The first Dunn Bros in Southern Minnesota, located on Madison Avenue in Mankato, was designed by I&S. The design presents a warm image throughout, incorporating materials like stone, wood, and stucco to architecturally merge craftsmanship with prairie-style details. A carefully detailed wood trellis adds scale and comfort to the outdoor seating area that is accessible from the coffee shop and from the neighboring frame shop. The exterior of the building is accented with an angular stone ‘chimney’ in the southeast corner. This key element will soon display a stainless steel coffee cup emitting steam, luring coffee-loving customers to dine at Dunn Bros. I&S provided full vertical and horizontal design services for the facility.
