Initially, I&S provided a feasibility study to assist the City of Hampton with selecting the best site to meet their needs for a new fire station. I&S was instrumental with consensus building throughout the project development stages since multiple stakeholders (city staff, firefighters, and community members) were involved.
After design for the selected site began, I&S was able to assist the City of Hampton with meeting additional goals for new City offices by cost-effectively incorporating them into the new fire station.
I&S assisted the City with selection of simple, low maintenance materials and provided planning for a community room to accomodate a growing population and training needs of the adjoining fire station.
The fire station consists of two drive-through apparatus bays supported by a dispatch office, lockers, attached mezzanine storage, and separate shower and restroom facilities.
The City Hall consists of administrative office space with a conveniently located fire rated file storage area.
