Humboldt Downtown Revitalization

The Humboldt Downtown Revitalization was a multi-year planning and design process that melded green infrastructure practices such as native plantings and stormwater harvesting to reduce flood risks, and pedestrian improvements in a four-block stretch to create a safer, more welcoming, and sustainable downtown core. The design team utilized applied technology to create highly visual design deliverables including 3D still images of design renderings and project videos, which were used at engagement events to help the community envision how they would interact with the proposed improvements.

  • Comprehensive master planning to identify and prioritize streetscape improvements
  • Traffic study to identify improvements for pedestrian safety and accessibility
  • Stormwater management with native plantings, soil quality restoration, curb cuts, and stormwater harvesting areas
  • Construction administration
