A groundbreaking ceremony was recently held for the City of Mankato Community Athletic Fields.
I&S worked with the City of Mankato’s Parks and Engineering Departments and the Mankato Area Youth Baseball Association to develop a master plan and cost estimate for the development of a community athletic complex. I&S provided designs for youth baseball fields, soccer fields, stormwater management, parking, and city street preliminary design.
The 20-acre athletic complex is located on city-owned property adjacent to the future site of Mankato Area Public Schools’ Rosa Parks Elementary School.
The First Phase will construct three baseball fields that are expected to be ready for use by July 2010.
Three additional baseball fields, a concession stand, and lighting for one baseball field will be constructed during Phase Two.
The final phase of the project includes the addition of a neighborhood park with a playground, picnic shelters, a basketball court and soccer fields.
