The McElroy Residence Hall Community on the campus of Minnesota State University – Mankato consists of nine residence halls. I&S Group was awarded a full service design contract to renovate Halls H and I. In addition to a complete architectural remodel, all existing aging baseboard radiation units and hydronic feed piping were replaced with new durable units and piping. A new fire sprinkler main to the building was constructed and previously unsprinkled areas were sprinkled. For additional comfort, sleeves were added to each room for in-room air conditioning units. I&S also completed all electrical design associated with the remodel.
I&S had previously completed a contract for a plumbing remodel for Halls G, H, & I, which included the replacement of all sanitary piping, lavatories, and make-up air.
