Recently I&S Group was retained by Koch Pipeline Company, LP to provide environmental compliance services for their MinnCan project – a 303.5-mile, 24-inch diameter crude oil pipeline that extends through 13 counties in Minnesota from Clearwater County to Dakota County.
Our duties for this project included:
- Project management services that involved coordinating and overseeing subcontractors and developing a work plan that kept the project on time and under budget
- Development of a monitoring plan in compliance with US Army Corps of Engineers that outlines approach to wetland monitoring and field study protocols
- Restoration assessment of wetlands and waterbodies that received temporary impacts resulting from the project
- Preparation of a wetland monitoring report in compliance with US Army Corps of Engineers permit conditions that reported on the condition of the post-construction revegetation, soils, and hydrological conditions
- Providing As-Built documentation of the soil surface elevation for the pipeline alignment and mitigation site
- Coordination with Local Government Agencies to maintain compliance with Minnesota Wetland Conservation Act
- Monitoring of the mitigation plantings for survival and stem densities
