The architectural styling of the Sweet Financial Office Building located in Fairmont, Minnesota reflects detailing indicative of the “Arts and Crafts” movement; yet borrows large overhangs, lower roof slopes, and repetitive geometric window systems from the “Prairie Style” to achieve an aesthetic that invokes a heightened sense of stability and permanence.
Building materials for both the exterior and interior were chosen for their warmth and expressive values. Cherry stained woodwork, window casing, trim, coffered ceilings that help define space, volumetric ceiling spaces, large skylights, and maintenance free shading trellises are just a few of the building amenities offered.
The design includes a large and volumetric lobby space with prairie style windows emitting light into the space from the south, elegantly detailed conference room spaces complete with multimedia capabilities, private offices, employee kitchen, public toilet rooms, and an exterior terrace for entertaining guests before, during, and after presentations or seminars.
