Minnesota State University, Mankato – Recreation & Athletic Field

Mankato, MN

48 Acres

Renovation of existing fields, development of new natural turf fields, and trails provides for wide-ranging sporting opportunities for this University. Effective drainage is a key component for the fields as well as the new fitness trail that winds throughout the outdoor athletic complex. Innovative drainage plans as well as structural, mechanical, and electrical work were incorporated into the new accessory-use buildings to house bleachers, restrooms, and a concession plaza.

Creative design tactics were used to develop shared-use fields to maximize the usability of the limited land available. These shared fields are able to accommodate a variety of sports including football, soccer, rugby, lacrosse and softball within the same area.
