ISG prepared a pre-design report at the request of a cooperative effort between Southwest Minnesota State University (SMSU) and the Marshall School District. The report identified the full scope of services to be provided for the proposed renovation and expansion of the Marshall Regional Track and Field Complex, formerly known as Mattke Stadium located in the northeast corner of the SMSU campus in Marshall, Minnesota.

The pre-design report included analysis of multiple alternatives including consideration of track reconstruction, track surfacing options, track and field events, soccer field surfacing options (synthetic turf versus natural grass), adjacent infrastructure, and future improvements including rehabilitation of bleacher seating.

The final design included a new track, new track and field event areas, a new synthetic field, walking paths, and stadium lighting. As part of the cooperative agreement SMSU will use the facility for track and field, soccer, rugby, practice football, and club sports, while the Marshall High school will use it for football, soccer and track and field.
