Oleson Park Master Plan

Oleson Park Master Plan

Fort Dodge, IA

ISG is in the early stages of beginning to implement projects outlined in the Oleson Park Master Plan. Through the park’s strategic reconfiguration, the master plan will work to resolve erosion,  circulation, and safety issues park-wide, as well as provide a new home for the deer in a more suitable environment. Overall updates, once complete, will foster a more user-friendly experience and support greater parking area organization.

Multi-stakeholder Up-front Planning:

• ISG worked with multiple groups including citizens, park supports, City staff, and use groups to gain consensus throughout the planning process.
• ISG was also lead in presenting to the City Council to gain various approvals of the master plan.

Conceptual + Site Plans:

• ISG was in charge of creating various site concepts and options for the team to review, ensuring each idea was properly vetted and that the end result was the best solution for the City and its users.
• ISG utilized state-of-the-art graphics programs, on site hand sketches, diagrams, and photos in order to properly capture the spirit of the park and help describe its future look and feel.

• The master plan provides a resource for identifying and building projects over the next 10-15 years in an effort to return the park to its once proud state as a community anchor.
